The SOTO gas stove series for every adventure
The SOTO gas stove series for every adventure
The Japanese company SOTO is known for its high-quality outdoor equipment. Especially through the Harley-Davidson Pan America, the focus is increasingly shifting to outdoor and adventure. I have to say that even before the appearance of the Pan America I've always enjoyed being outdoors with a tent and sleeping bag on my Harley. My last trip was in September to Norway, So far, it's my number one goal when it comes to an adventure close to nature.

One of the most important rules is to take as little as possible with you to save weight. However, you can also save unnecessary weight with the materials, the disadvantage is that these parts are usually not in the low budget range, but are then a purchase for life.
The photo is from my last trip to Norway in September, which is why I started looking into this topic again. If you have a sheltered spot, it works, but in my case it took a long time for the ravioli to warm up. SOTO seems to cope better with the wind, although I haven't been able to try this out yet. The combination of low weight and small pack size, as with the coffee filter or Thermostack set, for example, makes things interesting.

SOTO uses stainless steel, aluminum and titanium. Titanium has a few special properties: although it is heavier than aluminum, it has a high temperature resistance and is also corrosion-resistant.
It is said that titanium weighs half as much as stainless steel. Nevertheless, each element has its advantages, you just have to know them when you work with it.
Perhaps the SOTO gas stoves are the right choice for a motorcycle tour a bit oversized, but if you're carrying a gas stove, it should work too.
In order to have a strong flame under the pot, the Wind resistance System from SOTO in its element. The cookware is positioned very close to the burner.
Where other appliances break down, SOTO gas stoves keep on burning. The reason for this is the patented Micro Regulator System, which is built into three of the high-performance stoves (Windmaster, Fusion Trek, Micro Regulator). An intelligent chamber and pressure line system ensures that the flame continues to burn even when the pressure in the gas cartridge decreases.
Most stoves also have details that make them wind-resistant. Wind Resistance System is what SOTO calls it. The cookware is positioned very close above the burner. The flame nozzles are protected by a raised metal rim, which is aerodynamically shaped to deflect crosswinds.
All models are also:
- Sensitive dosing
- thrifty
- very light
- Smallest packable
- Quiet
