On June 19, 2022 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., officers from the Wittlich Police Department, under the leadership of the Daun Police Department, carried out a special check with a focus on motorized two-wheeled traffic as part of the concept “Riding a motorcycle in the Eifel - but safely!”
The control point was set up in the area of Kelberg-Zermüllen in the direction of the Nürburgring.
During the inspection period, 887 vehicles were measured as part of a speed camera checkpoint and subsequent violations were identified.
– 30x speed, including 2x by motorcycle, fastest of the day
75km/h with a permitted 50 km/h
– 2x defects in the lighting
– 1x expiry of the operating license
– 1x tire tread depth insufficient
– 6x driving license not carried
– 1x other missing documents
