ZZ TOP plays at the Sturgis Motorcycles Rally 2020
It is probably the wildest, dustiest and also largest Harley-Davidson event in the world, where everything is in one place. Sexy Bike Girls, the saloons have names like Full Thottle, The Knuckle, One-Eyed Jack's, Loud American Roadhouse and Iron Hourse.
There is a lot of dust in the air in the South Dakota area and it attracts thirsty bikers to the saloons to the bar where the party really gets started.
The Sturgis Rally came about during the Second World War, if you think about it, that's a whole 80 years ago, so we end up in 1940. The first rally probably took place in 1938, but it was still called the Black Hills Classic. At that time they drove up there with the new WLA and celebrated it.

People in Sturgis are confident that the party will take place in August. (As of March 29, 2020) The coronavirus is also raging in the USA, but I could imagine that it wouldn't be that easy to cancel this awesome party. However, it could happen that not every die-hard biker sees it that way and still shows up in Sturgis. Hopefully the situation will have eased again by August.
Sturgis Buffalo Chip Camping
If you want to camp in Sturgis, then you should go to the Buffalo Chip campsite, there is always enough space here and it is an attraction in itself. If you have rented a camper, or even prefer to pitch a tent, this is the right place for you.
wild West
There's just one catch, because South Dakota is a real Wild West and not only are there bison there, but a rattlesnake could snake its way past your tent.
If you're in the tent, always make sure there's nothing in your boots. A camper that you share with friends would be more comfortable. This has the advantage that you are directly on site and don't have to look for accommodation. You should just refrain from bringing your own alcohol onto the premises, as this is not desirable. There are over 60 free showers on site.
Harley-Davidson rental
A Harley-Davidson can be rented from Eagle Rider in the USA, for example. Being at the event without a Harley could make your heart bleed. However, this is not an easy undertaking; reservations must be made in good time.
What could be cooler than experiencing Sturgis on a Harley-Davidson? Unfortunately, it's not that easy, only those who arrive on time can get one of the coveted rental machines. Under the following link you will find several Eagle Rider stations around the event.
Sights and tips
1. Mount Rushmore National Memorial
The famous monument to the four US presidents carved in stone.
There are plenty of excursion destinations, and the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is at the top of the list. The monument shows the faces of former US Presidents G. Washington, Th. Jefferson, T. carved into the stone. Roosevelt and A. Lincoln.

JACK DANIELS 18TH ANNUAL STURGIS MAYOR'S RIDE
Fancy a trip to the Black Hills?
The 18th Mayor's Ride will take place in Sturgis on Monday, August 10th. The mayor of Sturgis and Jack Daniels invite you to the annual motorcycle tour. The journey takes you along a particularly beautiful route to the Black Hills.
There will be a photo stop at Mount Rushmore and lunch and a presentation with Mayor Carstensen at the State Game Lodge. It costs $180 to attend, there are only 150 tickets available and proceeds go to the local emergency services.
JUST MARRIED
And it's hard to believe, but people like to get married in Sturgis, there are 20 officiants who will help you get lucky and seal your biker wedding.

There will be no shortage of entertainment, as typical biker games still take place here. There is a lot to experience and laugh about, but of course you can take it easy and have a great time with your partner at the event, go on a few nice trips and enjoy the experience together.
