Navigation directly in the helmet: calimoto and Tilsberk bring route planning to the head-up display

Calimoto is becoming increasingly popular in the biker scene worldwide and is already the number 1 app for motorcyclists in Europe when it comes to tour planning and navigation. This innovative collaboration not only offers a real replacement for the smartphone or classic navigation device on the handlebars: it also immensely increases driving safety by displaying it in the field of vision!

The display of turn-by-turn directions directly in the helmet also means a completely new and futuristic driving experience for the calimoto user, which has previously often only been known from fictional science fiction productions in Hollywood.

Exciting innovation in the app stores for Android and iOS devices: The new DEKRA On Tour app is the perfect companion for your next trip on a motorcycle or classic car - with the most beautiful routes throughout Germany, with tips and checklists about cars, Motorcycle and mobility and with the direct route to the nearest DEKRA location.

The new free app combines the best features from the two well-known offers DEKRA Motorrad and DEKRA Mobil - further developed and in a modern, user-friendly design. The two existing apps will be removed from the app stores in a few weeks.

To start with, 30 particularly beautiful motorcycle tours are included - spread across Germany and of different lengths, depending on your preferences. The shortest tour is 79 kilometers and the longest is almost 400 kilometers. More tours will be added gradually. Each tour is provided with a detailed description, elevation profile and an overview of the most important sights along the route. A navigation function - to the starting point of the tour and along the route - is also included. And as a new feature, it is now also possible to record your own tours.

The accident helper is not only useful for motorcycle and vintage car enthusiasts. Immediately after a traffic accident, quick and correct action is required, but many road users often do not know what to do in an emergency. This is where the app helps in concrete terms: from securing the scene of an accident to making the right emergency call to dealing with injured people and first aid measures, users are guided through step-by-step instructions. The app also offers functions that allow you to call the emergency number directly, call the police or contact DEKRA for a damage report.

The checklists in the DEKRA On Tour app also provide practical help. No matter whether it's about paying attention to the most important details when buying a used car, registering the used car, preparing your vehicle for the upcoming general inspection, making it winter-ready or packing for vacation: you can click ahead step by step on many topics and be sure , not to have forgotten anything.

There are also checklists on the topic of motorcycles - for example for decommissioning during the winter season, for buying used, for the first ride of the year or for a biker holiday - and all about evaluation criteria for classic cars. Infocards also provide the most important tips on topics such as child seats, cleaning classic cars or special license plates.

Dashcam for motorcycles

The rising temperatures are attracting more and more bikers onto the streets. A motorcycle dash cam ensures more safety on the road and also documents the most beautiful tours.

“Bikers need to pay particular attention to their safety this year. Because, like every spring, many drivers “forgot” over the winter that they would be sharing the road with motorcyclists again at the beginning of spring,” says Łukasz Tetkowski, CEE & DACH Country Marketing Manager Mitac Europe. “In spring 2022, the Corona measures with lockdown and home office have led to less driving routine.”

Dashcams document dangerous situations

To make the journey as safe as possible, it is advisable to equip the motorcycle with a dashcam that records dangerous situations. Two-wheel camera is coming

This year Mio will bring another dashcam onto the market: the Mio MiVue™ M700 can be used not only by motorcyclists, but also by cyclists. This camera records videos in Full HD 1080P quality at 60 frames per second. The recordings are captured in 2K/1440p quality with a viewing angle of 140° so that every detail is captured while driving. Thanks to the metal housing and tempered glass, this camera is also waterproof to IP67 and can cope with a wide range of weather conditions.  

“With the dash cams for two-wheeler drivers, we want to make a contribution to outdoor adventure and offer the opportunity to record tours and capture dangerous situations.
