Paradise is here
The European Bike Week TM takes place from September 4th to 9th, 2012
The month of September brings around 190 hours of sunshine in the Carinthian region of Villach. In this area between the Alps and the Adriatic, spoiled by the weather gods, not only did the best of the cultures of the Germanic, Roman and Slavic peoples merge, but nature also takes center stage here: panoramic roads over heavenly passes offer views of high Alpine peaks, small streets wind along of clear rivers, streams and waterfalls – Carinthia is a Garden of Eden for the pleasure motorcyclist. And in the middle of it all lies the turquoise Faak Lake - once a year it forms the backdrop to the largest motorcycle event in Europe.
From September 4th to 9th, 2012 it's that time again: the European Bike Week, known as “Faak” for short, is calling, and thousands are following this call to Carinthia. Bikes, most of them made in the USA, line the streets around the lake like a string of pearls.
In the approximately 40,000 m² Harley® Village in the heart of Faak, people party until the early hours of the morning. Live music in the large tents, live music from the massive open-air stage and live music along “Main Street” mix with the sound of thousands of V-Twins strolling around the lake.
Biker wishes come true in the large authorized dealer mile and among the independent traders.
At the new authentic “Italian” in the customizer area and at the many other stands where hunger and thirst are quenched, guests’ wishes can be read from their lips. Every driver's license holder can take a free test ride to find out which Harley suits them best - around 50 brand-new test bikes are waiting to be ridden.
Meanwhile, everyone who doesn't yet have a driving license can try out on the Harley driving simulator what it feels like to do a "sea lap" in the saddle of a US Iron or to set off on one of the guided tours into the mountains.
The latest Harleys for 2013 - the 110th in the Motor Company's long history - are unveiled in the Expo tent, in the large customizer area you can look over the shoulders of the best in their field, and at the custom bike show These guys show what's going on in the scene today using more than 100 state-of-the-art custom bikes. As always, the crowning conclusion is the largest motorcycle parade in Europe, which takes its participants around the Carinthian lakes.
No matter whether on a Harley or another bike, whether by train, plane or car – if you like cool parties, you should come to Faak in September. As always, entry is free and, as always, all guests are welcome!
