Thank you for the music!
This year's „Motorcycle Fundraiser“ ended with a spectacular concert by „The BossHoss“ at the big Thunderbike Charity Open Air Festival. The patients of the DRK children's hospital in Siegen thanked for donations amounting to almost 123,000 euros.
(Siegen, 11.8.2015) Thunderbike called, the motorcycle and music fans came in droves and the small town of Hamminkeln was turned upside down. After all, there were several reasons to celebrate on August 1, 2015: the open day at the authorized Harley dealer for the Lower Rhine region and the Thunderbike Charity Festival 2015, including a spectacular open-air concert with „The BossHoss“, „Viper Sniper“ and „The Picturebooks“ as well as a large raffle to benefit the DRK Children's Hospital in Siegen.
Last year, the latter launched the second round of its „Motorcycle Donation Campaign“ in order to ensure the best possible care for its many thousands of patients in the future. Every donor had the chance to win a valuable prize. The main prize was an elaborately converted Harley-Davidson Street Bob from Thunderbike worth 39,000 euros. After the sound of the machine had caused awe among the almost 3,000 visitors, you could hear a pin drop when „The BossHoss“ singer and guitarist Sascha „Hoss Power“ Vollmer drew the winning tickets.

Fatma K. from Westerburg in the Westerwald got wet eyes in no time at all, because she will be able to get on a classy custom bike in the future. Patrick H. from Frankfurt was delighted to receive a voucher from clothing and accessories specialist Hein Gericke worth 1,000 euros and Joachim P. from Wolfsburg won a Harley leather jacket, which will be presented to him during a VIP visit to Harley-Davidson Germany GmbH.
However, the patients of the DRK Children's Hospital in Siegen can be particularly pleased, as this year's motorcycle fundraiser raised 70,468 euros for a good cause thanks to numerous donors from Germany and neighboring countries. And as a large proportion of the entrance fees for the Thunderbike Charity Festival were also donated to the Siegen Children's Hospital, Andreas Bergerforth, head of Thunderbike, was able to hand over a cheque for a further 52,500 euros to Arnd Dickel, the initiator of the motorcycle fundraising campaign, on the open-air stage.
With the proceeds from the fundraising campaign and benefit concert, the children's hospital will support the necessary renovation of the operating theater after massive water damage and set up age-appropriate palliative care for children and adolescents.
All those involved were deeply moved by the great response and the positive encouragement of the many donors on stage on Saturday evening. „As a biker and as a father, I naturally hoped that as many motorcycle fans as possible would take part in our campaign. But I am completely overwhelmed by such a result - topped by this unique concert. Many thanks to all the musicians and thank you for every donation!“ said a delighted Arnd Dickel. Of course, the motorcycle fundraising campaign will continue. You will soon find news under .
