Thank you for the music!
with a spectacular concert by “The BossHoss” at the big Thunderbike Charity Open Air Festival. The patients of the DRK Children's Clinic Siegen thank you for donations amounting to almost 123,000 euros.
(Siegen, August 11, 2015) Thunderbike called, the motorcycle and music fans came in droves and the small town of Hamminkeln was upside down. Finally, there were several reasons to celebrate on August 1, 2015: the open day at the Harley dealer for the Lower Rhine and the Thunderbike Charity Festival 2015 including a spectacular open-air concert with “The BossHoss”, “Viper Sniper” and “ The Picturebooks” and a large raffle in aid of the DRK Children’s Hospital Siegen.
The latter launched the second round of its “motorcycle fundraiser” last year in order to ensure optimal care for its many thousands of patients in the future. Every donor had the chance to win a valuable prize. The main prize was a Harley-Davidson Street Bob, extensively converted by Thunderbike, worth 39,000 euros. After the sound of the machine caused awe among the almost 3,000 visitors, you could hear a pin drop when “The BossHoss” singer and guitarist Sascha “Hoss Power” Vollmer drew the winning tickets.
Fatma K. from Westerburg in the Westerwald got wet eyes in no time, because she will be able to get on the noble custom bike . Patrick H. from Frankfurt was delighted to receive a voucher from clothing and accessories specialist Hein Gericke worth 1,000 euros and Joachim P. from Wolfsburg won a Harley leather jacket, which will be presented to him during a VIP visit to Harley-Davidson Germany GmbH .
Above all, the patients of the DRK Children's Clinic Siegen can be happy, because this year's motorcycle brought in 70,468 euros for the good cause thanks to numerous donors from Germany and neighboring countries. And since a large part of the entry fees for the Thunderbike Charity Festival were donated to the Siegen children's clinic, Andreas Bergerforth , head of Thunderbike, was able to hand over a check for a further 52,500 euros to Arnd Dickel, the initiator of the motorcycle fundraising campaign, on the open air stage.
With the proceeds from the fundraising campaign and benefit concert, the children's clinic will support the renovation of the operating area that was necessary after massive water damage and establish age-appropriate palliative care for children and young people.
Everyone involved was deeply moved by the great response and positive response from the many donors on Saturday evening. “As a biker and as a father, I naturally hoped that as many motorcycle fans as possible would take part in our campaign. But I am completely overwhelmed by such a result – topped by this unique concert. Many thanks to all the musicians and thank you for every donation!” said Arnd Dickel happily. Of course the motorcycle fundraising campaign continues. News will soon be available at .
