The first model in the Icons Collection is the new Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Revival.

NEU-ISENBURG (26.04.2021) - With the Electra Glide Revival presents Harley-Davidson heute die neue Icons Collection, eine Edition, die künftig Jahr für Jahr erweitert wird. Sie umfasst Motorräder, die in streng limitierter Stückzahl hergestellt werden und an traditionelle Formen sowie amerikanischen Style anknüpfen, indem sie klassische Harley-Davidson-Designs oder Ideen zur Zukunft des Motorraddesigns aufgreifen.

Within the framework of the Icons Collection becomes Harley-Davidson in Zukunft jährlich ein oder zwei Modelle vorstellen, die exklusiv in dem jeweiligen Jahr hergestellt werden. Die Production of such a model will neither be continued nor resumed at a later date.

Each motorcycle in the Icons Collection is assigned a serial number, and the buyer receives a certificate of authenticity.

The first model in a new collection

The Harley-Davidson Icons Collection celebrates its debut with the introduction of the Electra Glide Revival, eines Retroklassikers für Oldschool-Fans, die ein motorcycle mit ebenso unverwechselbarem wie zeitlosem Stil suchen. Die weltweite Produktion der Electra Glide Revival is limited to 1,500 units, which are expected to be available at authorized Harley-Davidson dealers at the end of April. The recommended retail price in Germany is €29,995.

Der Look der Electra Glide Revival ist inspiriert von der Electra Glide des Jahres 1969, der ersten Harley-Davidson, die optional mit einer Batwing-Verkleidung ausgerüstet werden konnte. Mit ihrer charakteristischen Form avancierte diese Verkleidung zu einem ikonischen und oft kopierten Styling-Feature, das dazu beitrug, eine Harley-Davidson unter einer Vielzahl von Motorrädern unmittelbar zu identifizieren.

The basic form of the original design is also immediately recognizable in current Harley-Davidson models. In 1969, the fairing and saddlebags were only available as white fiberglass parts, which is why the Electra Glide Revival replicated this look by painting the corresponding components in Birch White.

The tank medallion inspired by the late sixties and the Electra Glide lettering on the front fender contribute to the classic style. The Electra Glide Revival is available in a single paint scheme, which is also inspired by the original 1969 color scheme: the tank is two-tone in Hi-Fi Blue and Black Denim, separated by a stripe in Birch White. The fenders and side covers also feature Hi-Fi Blue.

„The Electra Glide Revival is like a tranquil oasis in this hectic era. It brings to life the original Harley-Davidson DNA that laid the foundation for Grand American Touring.“

One of the design highlights of the Electra Glide Revival is a solo seat with black and white upholstery and chrome rails. It is mounted on a shock absorber with adjustable coil springs—another homage to the Harley-Davidson FL models of the 1960s and a functional feature that enhances comfort.

Chrome-plated cross-spoke wheels and wide whitewall tires contribute to the nostalgic look, as do the shiny chrome layer on the front fender and trunk trim strips, the „fan“ air filter cover, the fork tube covers, and the auxiliary headlights—a design that catches the eye.

Milwaukee-Eight 114

The Electra Glide Revival is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin, which combines powerful performance with the classic Harley-Davidson look, sound, and feel.

• Power: 69 kW (94 hp) at 5,250 rpm
• Four-valve cylinder heads for optimal gas exchange and high performance
• Double ignition for even, complete, and energy-efficient combustion
• Six-speed Cruise Drive transmission for low engine speeds on the highway, low fuel consumption, and high comfort

Additional features of Harley-Davidson Touring models

The Electra Glide Revival scores with classic style, but its technology is completely up to date. Its load capacity and performance benefit from the rigid Harley-Davidson Touring frame, a double-loop steel tube construction with a backbone-style upper tube. In combination with the chassis components, it is perfect for long distances.

To ensure optimum handling depending on the load, the preload of the emulsion-type shock absorbers can be adjusted hydraulically by hand using a rotary control. The front wheel is guided by a 49-millimeter fork, which ensures linear damping characteristics thanks to its dual-bending valve technology.

The classic Batwing fairing features a tall, clear windshield and Splitstream Vent, a cleverly placed air intake that reduces turbulence around the rider's head. Electronic cruise control adds to riding comfort on long journeys, while a powerful halogen headlight and two auxiliary headlights provide excellent illumination of the road ahead and underline the nostalgic styling of the Electra Glide Revival.

Das Boom!-Box-GTS-Infotainment-System mit Farbtouchscreen versorgt zwei in der Verkleidung montierte Loudspeaker und bietet unter anderem eine moderne Navigationsfunktion. Es kann mit Bedientasten oder – bei Kopplung mit einem kompatiblen Headset – per Sprachsteuerung verwendet werden und ist für die Nutzung von Android Auto und Apple CarPlay vorbereitet.

Also included as standard are Harley-Davidson RDRS Safety Enhancements, a package of rider safety systems that adjust engine power during acceleration, deceleration, and braking to match available traction:
