The first model in the Icons Collection is the new Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Revival.

NEU-ISENBURG (26.04.2021) – Mit der Electra Glide Revival präsentiert Harley-Davidson Today, the new Icons Collection, an edition that will be expanded year after year. It includes motorcycles that are produced in strictly limited numbers and draw on traditional forms and American style by incorporating classic Harley-Davidson designs or ideas for the future of motorcycle design.

Within the framework of the Icons Collection wird Harley-Davidson in Zukunft jährlich ein oder zwei Modelle vorstellen, die exklusiv in dem jeweiligen Jahr hergestellt werden. Die Production eines solchen Modells wird danach weder fortgeführt noch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erneut aufgenommen.

Jedes motorcycle der Icons Collection wird mit einer Seriennummer versehen und der Käufer erhält ein Echtheitszertifikat.

The first model in a new collection

The Harley-Davidson Icons Collection celebrates its debut with the introduction of the Electra Glide Revival, a retro classic for old-school fans looking for a motorcycle with a style that is as distinctive as it is timeless. Global production of the Electra Glide Revival ist auf 1.500 Exemplare begrenzt, die voraussichtlich Ende April bei autorisierten Harley-Davidson-Händlern erhältlich sein werden. The look of the Electra Glide Revival is inspired by the 1969 Electra Glide, the first Harley-Davidson that could be optionally equipped with a Batwing fairing. With its distinctive shape, this fairing became an iconic and often-copied styling feature that helped to immediately identify a Harley-Davidson among a multitude of motorcycles.

The basic form of the original design is also immediately recognizable in current Harley-Davidson models. In 1969, the fairing and saddlebags were only available as white fiberglass parts, which is why the Electra Glide Revival replicated this look by painting the corresponding components in Birch White.

The tank medallion inspired by the late sixties and the Electra Glide lettering on the front fender contribute to the classic style. The Electra Glide Revival is available in a single paint scheme, which is also inspired by the original 1969 color scheme: the tank is two-tone in Hi-Fi Blue and Black Denim, separated by a stripe in Birch White. The fenders and side covers also feature Hi-Fi Blue.

One of the design highlights of the Electra Glide Revival is a solo seat with black and white upholstery and chrome rails. It is mounted on a shock absorber with adjustable coil springs—another homage to the Harley-Davidson FL models of the 1960s and a functional feature that enhances comfort.

Chrome-plated cross-spoke wheels and wide whitewall tires contribute to the nostalgic look, as do the shiny chrome layer on the front fender and trunk trim strips, the „fan“ air filter cover, the fork tube covers, and the auxiliary headlights—a design that catches the eye.

Milwaukee-Eight 114

The Electra Glide Revival is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin, which combines powerful performance with the classic Harley-Davidson look, sound, and feel.

Additional features of Harley-Davidson Touring models

The Electra Glide Revival scores with classic style, but its technology is completely up to date. Its load capacity and performance benefit from the rigid Harley-Davidson Touring frame, a double-loop steel tube construction with a backbone-style upper tube. In combination with the chassis components, it is perfect for long distances.

To ensure optimum handling depending on the load, the preload of the emulsion-type shock absorbers can be adjusted hydraulically by hand using a rotary control. The front wheel is guided by a 49-millimeter fork, which ensures linear damping characteristics thanks to its dual-bending valve technology.

The classic Batwing fairing features a tall, clear windshield and Splitstream Vent, a cleverly placed air intake that reduces turbulence around the rider's head. Electronic cruise control adds to riding comfort on long journeys, while a powerful halogen headlight and two auxiliary headlights provide excellent illumination of the road ahead and underline the nostalgic styling of the Electra Glide Revival.

Das Boom!-Box-GTS-Infotainment-System mit Farbtouchscreen versorgt zwei in der Verkleidung montierte Lautsprecher und bietet unter anderem eine moderne Navigationsfunktion. Es kann mit Bedientasten oder – bei Kopplung mit einem kompatiblen Headset – per Sprachsteuerung verwendet werden und ist für die Nutzung von Android Car und Apple CarPlay vorbereitet.

Also included as standard are Harley-Davidson RDRS Safety Enhancements, a package of rider safety systems that adjust engine power during acceleration, deceleration, and braking to match available traction:
