The Economist listete sie 2016 gar unter den zehn lebenswertesten Städten der Welt – noch vor Sydney, New York, London, Tokio und Berlin. Die Rede ist von Hamburg. It delights architecture enthusiasts with highlights such as the Elbphilharmonie, romantics love the Landungsbrücken, shopping queens love the Jungfernstieg and motorcycle fans are drawn year after year to the Hamburg Harley Days. This year, Europe's largest motorcycle city event will take place from June 23 to 25 and once again visitors from all over the world are expected.

The tent city is once again the home base for this mega event. Harley Village, die auf 40.000 Quadratmetern rund um den Wholesale market errichtet wird. Mitten durch die schier unzähligen Händler- und Cateringstände windet sich die Mainstreet, auf der Sehen und Gesehenwerden angesagt ist. Zu kaufen gibt es hier schlichtweg alles, was mit Harley-Davidson corresponds. Here you can admire crazy motorcycle conversions in the Bikers Power Customizer Village and fearless steep wall riders who are pressed against the „Wall of Death“ with three times their weight. This is where the free test rides on brand new US bikes start and, of course, the big Parade on Sunday - on an approximately 33 km long route along the Landungsbrücken, across the Köhlbrand Bridge and the Reeperbahn. The day before, the showcase of the most beautiful motorcycle conversions will take place in Mönckebergstraße, with around 100 machines on display. Ride-In Bike Show compete.

Und weil ein Harley Event ohne Musik, die mitreißt und in die Beine fährt, undenkbar wäre, heizen etliche wilde Bands dem Publikum ein. Dazu gehören unter anderem Tex-Mex lady Patricia Vonne, which is full of energy
rock ’n’ roll and rhythm and blues gets the pulse racing, and Jimmy Cornett & The Deadmen, die einen wogenden Mix aus rassigem Blues- und heißem Southern Rock bieten. Hard Rock-Fans dürfen weder Thundermother, die geballte charismatische Frauenpower aus Stockholm, verpassen, noch die australisch-amerikanische Truppe The Dead Daisies, die schon als Support von ZZ Top, Aerosmith und Alice in Chains unterwegs war. Kein Wunder, schließlich hat sich hier eine Runde echter Vollblut-Rocker versammelt, die unter anderem den Bands Mötley Crüe, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy und Foreigner entstammen.

And at the latest when the last person switches off the lights at the wholesale market, the Reeperbahn continue. Europe's biggest party mile is „the“ place to be for all night owls, and right in the middle is the Spielbudenplatz, the side location of the Hamburg Harley Days. As usual, admission to the entire event is free. Whether you ride a motorcycle or not, everyone who enjoys engines, music and good vibrations is welcome.
