No more parades on the Reeperbahn!
The Hamburg Harley Days 2018 has started

The Harley Days 2018 will take place in Hamburg next weekend. This year the event will again take place on the Hamburg wholesale market site. Numerous stands and an extensive music program provide entertainment in the area on the Elbe. The new planned route for the Harley-Davidson parade on Sunday made a big splash in advance. The parade still goes over the Köhlbrand Bridge, which is a special feeling, but this year the Reeperbahn will no longer be on the route, despite great efforts From the organizer, the red/green political leadership was not prepared to give in.

Hamburg Harley Days Parade

A parade without the world-famous Reeperbahn in Hamburg is really sad, thousands of people lined up in anticipation on this section every year. You get the feeling that Hamburg politicians are continuing to work on uninstalling the event in the city. It used to be at Heiligengeistfeld, right in the heart of Hamburg opposite the Reeperbahn, it has been taking place at the wholesale market for years.

A compromise you can live with, but just a compromise.
Obviously it is not in the interest of the district management that the international visitors to the Harley scene take impulsive experiences home with them, because especially on the other days in the evening hours it was always an exciting experience for the visitors to be there on the Reeperbahn despite the fact that the fun has been significantly restricted by the authorities in recent years. What remains is the area at the wholesale market where we can still have some fun; we'll see how it develops over the next few years. Now that the event in Cologne is no longer taking place, the eyes are now on Dresden, where they still have the opportunity to overtake the global metropolis Hamburg in the next few years.
