The new Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric bike will make its European debut on November 6, 2018, at the company's EICMA press conference in Milan. The first public appearance of the electrically powered LiveWire on our continent will allow trade fair visitors to take a close look at the production-ready machine, which until now has only been seen as a prototype.
The LiveWire, which will go on sale later in 2019, is the first model in a range of electrically powered Harley-Davidson two-wheelers announced in July this year as part of the company's โMore Roads to Harley-Davidsonโ growth strategy. At the heart of the strategy is an aggressive multi-pronged approach to attract even more customers to the brand, open up new segments and further develop the retail experience. In addition to the LiveWire, the company has also announced new models in the Adventure Touring and Streetfighter segments, which are to be launched on the market from 2020.
The international winner of the 2018 Battle of the Kings Contest will also be announced at EICMA 2018. This competition for Harley-Davidson dealers is the largest custom build-off in the world. This year, more than 300 Harley-Davidson dealers from 30 countries competed for the title. The participants' task was to convert a Harley-Davidson production model into a custom bike - the budget was strictly limited and parts from the Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories catalog had to be used. The finalists from Thailand, Australia and Italy will be exhibited on the Harley-Davidson EICMA stand. The overall winner of the competition has been selected by the Harley-Davidson styling and design team and the eagerly awaited result will be announced at the press conference on Tuesday, November 6 from 14:50.
