THE HARLEY MEETING AT LAKE FAAK 2020
The Harley meetup 2020 on Lake Faak, which is actually not one, because at the beginning of June the European Bike Week 2020 officially canceled by Harley-Davidson. The health risks for visitors at such a mass event were deemed too great.
The view to Sturgis could now have proved the whole thing right.
On Thursday I went with my buddy Hermann to the Lake Faak because we wanted to go somewhere this year and spontaneously decided to do a few tours here.
As expected, the large event area is empty, only one pub, which is located directly on the event area, is busy.
There's a party under the roof down by the Arneitz, but there are no stalls on the other side either - a parking lot has been set up there. Harleys are always pulling up here, so there's a bit of movement.
There are a lot of bikes around here, the authorities speak of 10,000 bikes. You can see them in Villach and especially in Velden.
There is more going on in Velden, but as already reported in advance, there are only a few exhibitors on site. Velden has the advantage that there is a lot of gastronomy right on the street, plus the casino, which, as usual, attracts many visitors. Masks are compulsory on the streets of Velden from 21:00 to 2:00.
The focus this year is clearly on riding, exploring the area, just like we will be doing.
