HARLEY-DAVIDSON PRESENTS FOUR FASCINATING CVO CUSTOM BIKES FOR 2015
The new CVO Street Glide comes with a powerful Boom! audio system and the new CVO Road Glide Ultra offers a first-class travel experience
MILWAUKEE (August 26, 2014) - Great paint colors, unique wheels, brutal power, exclusive technologies and incomparable custom features - the portfolio of the
Harley-Davidson® Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO)™ has it all in model year 2015.
These machines touch the soul of riders who have gasoline in their blood.
The new CVO™ Street Glide is a hot rod bagger with an impressive new Boom! audio system, whose amplifiers deliver 600 watts and drive the four three-way loudspeakers using the bi-amping method. The precision of the reproduction is just as impressive as the achievable volume. With first-class aerodynamic properties, the new CVO™ Road Glide Ultra. It combines numerous attractive touring features with a triple split-stream vent on its newly designed, frame-mounted fairing.
Stylish long-haul travel is the destiny of the CVO™ Ultra Limited, which in model year 2015 rolls on new, high-gloss chrome-plated Slicer custom wheels and has been refined with numerous accessories from the Parts and Accessories Airflow Collection. The nostalgic character of the CVO™ Softail® Deluxe is further enhanced for the new model year thanks to a new brake system and new two-tone paintwork.
Harley-Davidson CVO Bikes have been enhanced with fascinating custom paint finishes and numerous exclusive components from the Harley-Davidson Genuine Parts and Accessories program. Many custom features, parts and components are being used for the first time on CVO models before they are included in the Motor Company's accessories sales program.
The CVO models are powered by 1801 cubic centimeter V-twins, the largest displacement engines currently available from Harley-Davidson. They are used exclusively in CVO models. In the CVO Ultra Limited, the CVO Street Glide and the CVO Road Glide Ultra, a Screamin‘ Eagle® Twin-Cooled™ Twin Cam 110™ is used, in which the cylinder heads in the area of the exhaust valves are additionally liquid-cooled in order to achieve a plus in riding comfort, especially in midsummer traffic jams.
The 2015 CVO Softail Deluxe is powered by the air-cooled Screamin‘ Eagle Twin Cam 110. On all models, the engine power is transmitted via a hydraulically actuated clutch, which guarantees low manual forces and has been designed to be extremely robust and durable.
As it is an „Assist and Slip“ clutch, it also prevents the rear wheel from stamping when downshifting. In addition, all CVO models are equipped with the electronic cruise control system, ABS, keyless ignition and the Harley-Davidson Security System, which automatically activates and deactivates the alarm system and immobilizer. The scope of delivery also includes an indoor/outdoor cover with CVO logo.
CVO Street Glide, Model year 2015: It is a challenge to create a premium audio system that achieves both an extremely impressive volume and maximum sound fidelity. Harley-Davidson has designed such a system and integrated it into one of the most desirable factory custom baggers of all time: the 2015 CVO Street Glide.
Four bi-amplified three-way loudspeakers, two four-channel amplifiers with 300 watts of music power each, a unique equalizer and a sophisticated DPS crossover give the music reproduction maximum precision and astonishing naturalness even at extreme levels. No matter which music genre the driver prefers - he will enjoy it in better quality than ever before.
But this machine has much more to offer: For the first time in a Street Glide, the Screamin‘ Eagle Twin-Cooled™ Twin Cam 110™ is used here, which develops a massive torque of 156 Nm. The fuel tank with side filler neck is crowned by an extra-flat console with backlit CVO logo. Other custom features include the new, high-gloss chrome-plated Aggressor five-spoke cast alloy wheels, extended panniers, a CVO custom seat, the Daymaker™ LED headlight and the short windshield splitter.
From the grips to the silencer caps, numerous accessories come from the Airflow collection of Parts and Accessories. Added to this are the many features developed in the Rushmore project, including the aerodynamically optimized Batwing fairing with Splitstream air duct, which minimizes turbulence in the rider's head area. The Boom!™ Box 6.5 GT infotainment system with large touchscreen and navigation system is also on board. The icing on the cake are the exclusive paint finishes in the color combinations Scorching Yellow with Starfire Black Flames, Starfire Black with Gold Dust Flames, Ultraviolet Blue with Molten Lava Flames and Hard Candy Mercury with Smoky Quartz Flames.
CVO Road Glide Ultra, 2015 model year: a touring bike in a class of its own. The new frame-mounted fairing is an attractive synthesis of inimitable style and excellent aerodynamics - and it offered the CVO styling team plenty of space for a new, fascinating paint design.
The fairing, which was optimized in the wind tunnel, has a round
34 cm high windshield and a triple split-stream vent to prevent air turbulence in the rider's head area. The new air deflectors in the lower fairing area create a pleasant air flow around the body. To give the rider a particularly comfortable riding position even on long journeys, the new chrome-plated handlebars with a diameter of around 3.2 cm have been moved far back and raised.
The interior trim is integrated into the color-coordinated paint design of the machine.
Harley-Davidson launched the Boom!™ Box 6.5 GT infotainment system, which includes a navigation system with three-dimensional map display, an amplifier with a music output of 75 watts per channel and 16.5 cm Boom! Bagger™ loudspeakers. After sunset, the powerful double Daymaker LED headlights turn night into day.
Of course, this machine also has the numerous features developed in the Rushmore project, which include the Reflex™ braking system with electronic brake force distribution and ABS, the one-touch system for panniers and Tour Pak, a 49 mm fork and an extremely comfortable pillion seat. Other standard features include separate heated seats for the rider and passenger, high-gloss chrome-plated Slicer custom wheels, premium inner bags for the panniers and Tour Pak, backlit controls on the handlebars and fairing and a high-performance alternator. The elegant paint design is available in three color combinations: Abyss Blue and Crushed Sapphire, Burgundy Blaze and Typhoon Maroon and Carbon Dust and Autumn Sunset.
CVO Softail Deluxe, Model year 2015: The Art Deco-inspired paintwork, wide whitewall tires and classic silhouette transform the vintage style of the Softail Deluxe into a work of art. Despite all this, the CVO Softail Deluxe is a motorcycle that is child's play to control and whose performance and touring capability are absolutely up to date.
It has a new brake system with a newly designed master brake cylinder and a new 300 mm brake disc, which guarantees optimized response and less manual force on the brake lever.
The side stand is now even easier to reach with your foot. The windshield, panniers, luggage rack and pillion seat and backrest can be removed in a few simple steps to transform the CVO Softail Deluxe from a veritable touring machine into a stylish boulevard cruiser in just a few minutes. A Road Tech™ zumo® 660 GPS navigation system is attached to the windshield.
The low center of gravity and the seat positioned at a height of 655 mm make the CVO Softail Deluxe the ideal machine for riders who are not tall. Its extraordinary paintwork and lavish chrome plating ensure that it attracts enthusiastic glances wherever it goes. The new color options include Bermuda Blue and Stardust Silver as well as Black Crystal and Dark Tungsten.
CVO Ultra Limited, Model year 2015: The ideal synthesis of elegant custom styling and sophisticated touring features. The fixed star among the CVO bikes comes in the new model year with new, high-gloss chrome-plated Slicer custom wheels, which have offset valve connections to facilitate air pressure control. Numerous accessories that combine black rubber and sparkling chrome come from the new Airflow Collection of the Parts and Accessories range.
These include the heated grips, the brake pedal and the paddle shifters, the rider footboard inserts and the air filter cover. The components optimized in the Rushmore project include the Daymaker headlights, the Reflex braking system with ABS and electronic brake force distribution and the Boom!™ Box 6.5 GT infotainment system, which includes a navigation system with three-dimensional map display, an amplifier with a music output of 75 watts per channel and 16.5 cm Boom! Bagger™ loudspeakers.
The machine also features premium inner bags for the panniers and Tour-Pak, backlit controls on the handlebars and fairing and a high-performance alternator. The hand-finished paintwork is available in three variants: Carbon Dust and Charcoal Slate, Gold Rush and Carbon Dust and Palladium Silver and Typhoon Maroon.
