(Neu-Isenburg, 15.01.2019) Wer sich von der grauen Masse abheben und seinen eigenen Stil leben will, rennt bei Harley-Davidson seit jeher offene Türen ein. Der Originalzubehörkatalog umfasst inzwischen fast 900 Seiten. Sie sind prall gefüllt mit Teilen, die jede Harley into an unmistakable one-off. Every year, the company's authorized dealers present what this can look like in the Battle of the Kings Contest.

This competition, in which dealers compete in the fine art of customizing, will take place worldwide for the first time in 2019, as US dealers are now also taking part. Numerous dealers from all over the world who have built a custom bike over the winter in accordance with the regulations will be competing. As a basis - apart from trikes and CVO models - any current Harley was eligible. The conversion journey could be in the direction of dirt, chop or race, the budget for parts and labor could not exceed 50 percent of the vehicle value and half of the parts costs had to be original. H-D Parts are not required. Last but not least, the bike needs to be road-legal.

Now the dealers are presenting their individualized machines online and the fans and friends of the brand Harley-Davidson are invited to cast their vote. This is no easy task, as all the bikes are as consistent as they are unique and each has a completely individual character. You can now marvel and vote - for one month, because the national public voting ends on February 16 and a jury of experts will make the final decision among the best-placed bikes in each country. The national Custom King will be duly celebrated! Following this, a further public vote will decide on the best four bikes from all non-American participants, which will then be presented at the Motorcycle show EICMA in Milan against the top 4 US bikes. With these World Championships a jury of experts is once again in demand. They will select the first global Custom King.
