HARLEY-DAVIDSON LAUNCHES THE ULTIMATE TOURING ADVENTURE

Under the project name „Discover More“, a Harley-Davidson is sent on a fascinating 20,000-kilometer trip along the most beautiful roads in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa

OXFORD (April 7, 2014) - Today marks the start of the countdown to Discover More, an amazing travel adventure that will see a Harley-Davidson® Street Glide® take on some of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The bike will cross the borders of more than 30 countries on over 20,000 kilometers.

On May 5, the starting signal will be given in the Middle East for the trip, which will be called „Discover More“.“ Street Glide along winding dream roads on two continents. People from a wide variety of cultures will line the route, which promises fascinating views of seas, mountains and plains - just like the wanderlust and thirst for knowledge that drives travelers on Harley-Davidson Touring models has always been a driving force.

On the individual stages of the journey, which is one of the most elaborate that Harley-Davidson organized for the first time, more than 50 selected riders from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa will take to the saddle to share their experiences and stories with the web community. The riders will include social media fans, celebrities, journalists and Touring Friends count. The new Touring models were presented to the public for the first time in August 2013.

They were created as part of the Rushmore project, in which Harley-Davidson focused more than ever on the wishes and ideas of its customers in order to really improve every aspect of the travel experience on two wheels. For example, riders on the „Discover More“ tour will be able to enjoy the exceptionally easy handling and outstanding comfort of a new
Harley-Davidson Touring model while you reel off mile after mile.

To capture the unquestionably numerous moments of emotion, adventure and exploration, Harley-Davidson is working with production company KngLAD for the first time. A three-person team will film each stage of the journey to document the riders' stories in powerful images that capture the fascination of a trip on a
Harley-Davidson Touring Bike. This gives fans around the world the opportunity to follow real-time updates, photos and videos via social media channels and the „Discover More“ website (www.h-d.com/discovermore).

Just in time for European Bike Week, the Street Glide rolls into Faak, Austria, for the finale of the „Discover More“ tour on September 6, 2014. Together with thousands of other motorcycle fans, the riders of the „Discover More“ tour will celebrate the end of the journey at Europe's largest motorcycle festival. The bike, which was accompanied by hundreds of other motorcycle travelers along the way, will then be exhibited at the event in Faak.
Matthew Knott, Harley-Davidson EMEA Communications Manager, explains: „We are very much looking forward to the „Discover More“ tour, the biggest Touring Ride ever organized by Harley-Davidson in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. After presenting the new touring models created in the Rushmore project last August, one of these models will now show what it's made of and how much fun you can have on a trip with these machines.“
