Thousands of Harley-Davidson® fans visited the European Bike Week® in Faak am See
More than 90,000 motorcyclists from all over the world conquered the south of Austria on the occasion of the famous Harley-Davidson Rally
OXFORD (September 11, 2014) - From Tuesday, September 2 to Sunday, September 7, the province of Carinthia once again formed the backdrop for the impressive event called European Bike Week. Despite the adverse weather, more than 90,000 motorcycle fans and 60,000 bikes were at the scene of the action when Faak am See celebrated for the 17th time. For the Harley Village in the heart of Faak, the organizers had once again come up with lots of ideas to offer visitors six days of pure entertainment.
This is how the crème de la crème of the European Bikebuilder in the Customizer Area their strongest conversions and in the exhibition tent the Harley-Davidson models for 2015 can be admired - above all the new models Road Glide® Special, Street Glide® Special and Street™ 750. The event highlights naturally included the Custombike Show on Friday, with more than 70 top-class machines entered in 10 categories.
Nedal Ameens impressive hubless custom masterpiece, the People's Choice Award awarded, while Fawaz Alsalem the jury with an extreme Stretch bagger which rolls on a massive 32-inch front wheel. Meanwhile, more than 900 visitors took the opportunity to explore the fascinating region on a test lap. For this purpose, a large armada of new Harleys was on hand, supplied by
Driving license holders for the purpose of test drive could be borrowed.
Thousands of Harley-Davidson fans were on hand when the Discover More Street Glide®, which has been traveling on two continents for the past four months, arrived at Harley Village on Friday. During the „Discover More Tour the bike crossed more than 30 countries on a route covering around 25,000 kilometers. It was a matter of honor that the bike was given a festive welcome on its arrival at Europe's largest motorcycle festival.

Their long journey began in Jordan and more than 50 riders sat in the saddle during the adventurous tour. The first of them, Claude Abry, former chef to Jordan's King Abdullah II and current Managing Director of Harley-Davidson Amman, was also the last: he set off on Friday morning for the final stage of the tour to Faak am See.
Another highlight was the European Bike Week Parade, where over 15,000 participants were counted. The many bikes in the midst of the beautiful Carinthian landscape and the numerous people lining the streets made the fascination of Harley-Davidson tangible. As the last night of the event dawned, Francesco Daveiro, a member of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) from Italy was particularly pleased as he won the Harley-Davidson Street Bob® in the big „European Bike Week“ prize draw.
Also Matthew Knott, Harley-Davidson EMEA Communications Manager, had reason to celebrate: „We are now celebrating for the 17th time in Faak am See and year after year we are fascinated by our European customers' passion for our products and our brand. We would like to thank all the fans who attended this year and look forward to seeing them again in 2015 to celebrate the European Bike Week in Faak to experience.“
Next year's European Bike Week will take place from Tuesday, September 8 to Sunday, September 13.
