Too loud: Police pull motorcycles out of traffic

Targeted Controls of motorcyclists has the police on Tuesday and Wednesday on the „Luttern“ and „Zur Lutternschen Egge“ roads over the Wiehengebirge. Technical modifications were noticed on some of the bikes.

The traffic service officers had chosen the early evening hours from 6 p.m. for the checks. On Tuesday, they stopped three motorcycles for which the operating license had expired as a result of technical modifications. One of the drivers was a 50-year-old man from Bad Oeynhausen. This man had his Harley-Davidson was fitted with an unauthorized exhaust and air filter system that was too loud. The man was banned from continuing his journey, so the machine had to be picked up with a trailer.

Am Folgetag wurden vier weitere Motorräder überprüft, bei denen ebenfalls die Umbauten nicht zulässig waren. Dies hatte das Erlöschen der Betriebserlaubnis zur Folge. So traf es unter anderem erneut einen Harley-Davidson-Fahrer (62). Dieser hatte an seinem Motorrad eine Abgasanlage montiert, die lediglich für die USA eine Zulassung besaß. Auch in diesem Fall endete die Fahrt am Kontrollort. Insgesamt konnten an beiden Tagen lediglich 15 Kräder angetroffen und überprüft werden.
