Top Mountain Crosspoint Motorcycle Museum burned down
The Top Mountain Crosspoint is Europe's highest motorcycle museum . Since opening in 2016, over 230 historic motorcycles and various classic cars have been presented on an area of 3000m².
Update to the article can be found here: The cause of the fire has been clarified
There was also a culinary restaurant that offered specialties from North and South Tyrol. The motorcycle museum was beautifully built into the surrounding area at 2175 meters in Obergurgl / Hochgurgl.
According to police, a fire broke out around 4:40 a.m. this morning and largely destroyed the Mountain Motorcycle Museum. According to current information, no one was injured, but it appears that the western part of the popular excursion point is completely destroyed. The museum was packed with historic vehicles.
The twin brothers Alban and Attila Schaber built and ran the museum with a lot of passion. Harleysite should get to know them in 2017 and I can say that they were real classics.
The cause of the fire is still unclear and the material damage can hardly be compensated for with money.
So that you know what was lost, I quickly picked out a few photos from my visit in 2017.
