Traffic accident/with slightly injured cyclist and fleeing car

On August 1st, 2021, around 1:56 p.m., a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a car occurred in the intersection area (Am Zimmerbach/Saarstrasse) in Birkenfeld. According to previous findings, the car driver disregarded the right of way of the motorcyclist on the higher street (Saarstrasse) in the intersection area.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist fell onto the road and was slightly injured. Before the police arrived, the car fled the scene of the accident without permission. According to initial witness statements, the getaway vehicle was a silver-colored station wagon (presumably Peugeot) with the license plate “NK” (for Neunkirchen) .
The getaway vehicle fled via Trierer Straße in Birkenfeld in the direction of Buhlenberg. In the Buhlenberg area, a witness lost visual contact with the getaway vehicle.
