Velden am Wörthersee is currently reinventing itself, and this year the Velden Village in Velden am Wörthersee, the Velden Biker Market.

In Velden am Wörthersee, there are three motor events every year that cause a stir. The GTI meeting, which has taken on a life of its own over the years, always takes place there in May.

Voices from the village say they are coming even though no one has called them and unfortunately there are a few among them who are not only conspicuous, but also very conspicuous with their misfiring and acceleration races. As is so often the case, it's individuals who make the noise that nobody wants and in the end it affects everyone.

It also affects the sports car meeting in June!

With the Sports car meeting in Velden am Wörthersee, which takes place regularly in June, looks exactly the same. A very good and affluent clientele comes to Lake Wörthersee, where other tourist resorts would be happy to welcome visitors with their sports cars to their own region. And unfortunately, there are also participants among this elite group who do not really have themselves under control and make their contribution in a negative sense.

But the town is always happy to welcome visitors, some of whom have very unusual and high-quality sports cars.

And at the end of the season, the wealthy bikers come to Lake Wörthersee and you already know what's coming. There are also a few of us who bang through the residential areas in the middle of the night and don't give it a second thought. It's probably not so much about someone being loud in front of the casino, the residents there have certainly already turned the volume down and in the end they know that they live in one of the most popular tourist resorts in Austria.

From what we hear, it is about some residents who live close to the city center and are particularly bothered by the city life and live music at night. The main problem, according to information so far, is in May and has now led to restrictions being imposed on all motor events.

In the end, they all contribute to this problem, but together they all bring in millions in turnover to these regions and the 4,500 beds want to be occupied all year round.

What we can really expect in Velden in 2022!

There will no longer be a bike raffle as in the last 10 years, and the live music will also no longer take place. One of the main organizers, who has rendered outstanding services over many years in setting up the event, is retiring this year.

In response to a request from the mayor of Velden am Wörthersee, the managing director of VTG Veldener Tourismus informed us that the Velden Biker Market will take place from September 2 to 11, 2022. It will be set up in the area of the town center, mainly at Brunnenplatzl and in the area of Gemonaplatz/Seecorso. There will be biker-related offers, according to Harleysite information there will be about 10 stands.

The party at Gemonaplatz will no longer take place in its familiar form. There will be no live music and the Seecorso access road from the Schloss Velden/ Wahliss-Straße junction will only be accessible to local residents and guests of local businesses and can no longer be used as a thoroughfare.

It will be possible to drive through the town as usual, and parking spaces will again be available for bikes in the town. Fred Kodlin and other exclusive customizers and exhibitors will be represented at the exhibition and sales fair at Casino Velden and Casineum Velden - as always, admission is free.

Bikers should also feel at home in Velden this year. 

This has probably brought some clarity to the matter, bikers are still welcome in Velden. To keep it that way, we bikers, especially in the residential areas, should remember that we can only do it together. With this in mind, we are looking forward to the European Bike Week at Faaker See and that we are also welcome in Velden am Wörthersee this year.
