2022 Road Glide ST 117
Harley-Davidson Road Glide ST 117 – driving report

The special fun maker in the Grand American Touring class

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide ST 117 is one of a series of three particularly sporty models that Harley-Davidson has brought to the road in 2022!

Road Glide ST 117 comes as standard as a single-seater from the factory; the background is its actual use for the Bagger Race, which is currently gaining more and more popularity in the USA and will certainly find its way to us. Now very few of us will want to race with it, so I converted it into a tourer a bit so I could ride the Road Glide to the Lofoten Islands in Norway. The hammock seat and the removable sissy bar with luggage rack are exactly what I need.

Buy another Road Glide ST 117 in 2022?

The 117 engine really appeals to me and the sporty ST version is the best way to get a tourer with a 117 cubic inch engine in terms of price-performance. Next year it is assumed that Harley-Davidson will bring an engine upgrade, but we don't really know which versions this will be for.

A price increase is expected again for the 2023 model year, which could be up to 7%, although the dollar exchange rate will play its own role.

So I would really consider whether it should still be a 2022 model. The tourer is really fun, the 1923 cc pushes the approx. 382kg powerfully out of every corner, it's this pull that really makes the difference.

An even larger Milwaukee-Eight engine would certainly be more fun, but that would cost more. The Vivid Black paintwork in combination with the “Matte Dark Bronze” color stripes on the lower rocker boxes and the Prodigy cast light alloy wheels are the identifying features of the ST series. Everything is beautifully done in black, it scores points with its appearance.

Custombike Show 2025 - Bad Salzuflen motorcycle fair

Of course, Harley-Davidson also has a number of parts in the catalog for the ST series, various panels or black levers for the case pull the black thread through even more.

If you want to stand out even more, it is also available in Gunship Gray for an additional charge of €430 (as of 10/2022). The gray is just as eye-catching as the whole series. I'm currently riding the Street Glide ST 117 with Öhlins shock absorbers and am also testing them extensively.

Harley-Davidson Kohl - Aachen Winter Sale

I drove the Road Glide ST a total of around 10,000 kilometers, including long stretches of motorway and just as many country roads and passages through the Norwegian mountains. Most of the time I was fully loaded, but you don't notice much of the luggage in terms of performance, it can handle it all.

It has all the technical features that make motorcycling safer, the rain mode being the most striking feature for me. Rain mode is also the only thing you have to actively switch on yourself; all other systems work hidden in the background and intervene automatically when requested by the sensors.

Especially when driving on a ferry, which happens very often in Norway, the rain mode is active for me. With the torque of 168Nm you have to be on your toes when you get on the ship on the steel plates that are actually always wet. The torque is its real strength and it responds immediately from below anyway. It has all the requirements you would expect from a good tourer, there are many options for upgrading it and that's a good thing.

I had a lot of fun with it on my tours, you can certainly hear my enthusiasm in the video, although the difference to a Street Glide ST is more of a matter of opinion, they're both really fun, which can make things complicated in the end.

2022 Low Rider El Diablo Harley-Davidson Icons Collection

Icons Collection: Harley-Davidson introduces new Low Rider El Diablo special edition impresses with unique paintwork and legendary performance

NEU-ISENBURG,  September 1, 2022 - Once again, Harley-Davidson one of its icons in a new light: the new Low Rider El Diablo is a homage to the legendary West Coast Custom Style. It combines strong performance and sportiness with a unique look and the sound of Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate.

The Low Rider El Diablo appears as part of the Harley-Davidson Icons Collection , with which Harley-Davidson releases up to two of its models once a year in a unique limited edition, celebrating characteristic colors, iconic designs and parts.

Each model in the Icons Collection is individually numbered and is only produced once. Only 1,500 copies of the new Low Rider El Diablo will be mass-produced worldwide and will be available from authorized Harley-Davidson dealers from autumn 2022 at an RRP of 29,995 euros¹ in Germany and 35,995 euros¹ in Austria.

Low Rider ST in the style of counterculture

The basis for the new Low Rider El Diablo is the Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST. With two suitcases as well as a frame-mounted fairing and the Harley-Davidson Softail chassis and the V-twin engine of a Milwaukee-Eight 117, the new Low Rider El Diablo sets new standards in style and sporty touring performance.

“The Low Rider El Diablo is a modern expression of the iconic 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT and a representation of the custom trend it launched that continues to this day,” said Brad Richards, Vice President of Design and Creative Director Harley-Davidson. Davidson. “It embodies the spirit of 80s Southern California counterculture in a contemporary package that includes a carefully crafted custom paint job, including pinstripes that directly reference those of the original FXRT.”

Elegant paintwork is created by hand

The elaborate, multi-layer paintwork of the special edition is a particularly high form of craftsmanship: the base coat in El Diablo Bright Red is complemented by a second fine coat in Bright Red Sunglo. The red pinstripes are carefully masked and highlighted with shading in El Diablo Dark Red and Dark Red Pearl, which also create a depth effect. The painters then apply a coat of Diablo Dark Red Metallic surrounding the El Diablo Bright Red to further increase the shading and depth effect.

After the covers are removed, the pinstripes on the cases, tank, fenders and fairing are revealed. Special highlight: The pale gold lines are applied by hand as an elegant finish within the El Diablo Bright Red color areas. As the final layer of paint, the translucent El Diablo Bright Red Sunglo creates a special candy effect. Black surfaces on the drive train, front end and exhaust complete the El Diablo look. The cast aluminum rims in a matt, dark bronze tone create an exciting contrast.

The Low Rider El Diablo is painted entirely by hand by Gunslinger Custom Paint, the specialist for individually painted components for Harley-Davidson® Custom Vehicle Operations motorcycles and limited edition paints.

High performance sound system

The new Low Rider El Diablo comes as standard with a particularly powerful sound system integrated into the fairing: The Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate was specially designed for use in motorcycles. The system with integrated two-way speakers has a compact 250-watt amplifier with digital signal processor (DSP).

DEEMEED Motorcycle Bags and Accessories - Harleysite Coupon

The system connects to mobile devices via Bluetooth 4.2 to play stored or streamed audio files in excellent sound quality via the speakers integrated into the fairing. In addition, drivers will find other useful features in the associated app, such as automatic volume control (AVC), which allows the volume to be adjusted to the vehicle speed, or the seven-band equalizer.

Harley-Davidson® Unveils New Apex Factory Custom Paint
HD® Racing Heritage Inspires Custom Paint for Touring Models

NEW ISENBURG, August 5, 2022 - The new Apex Factory Custom Paint Design will give selected Harley-Davidson® Grand American Touring models an even racier appearance in the future. The special paintwork, which will be available directly from the factory, is inspired by the motorcycle brand's long and successful racing history.

The touring models with the new paintwork will be on display for the first time at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, USA. The Harley-Davidson ® Screamin' Eagle® factory team defends victory there in the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers Championship , continuing a legacy established more than a century ago in hill climb, drag racing and flat track.

“The new Apex Factory Custom Paint highlights the close proximity to racing through its exceptional design,” said Brad Richards, VP of Design and Creative Director – Motorcycles. “Inspired by the Harley-Davidson® racing motorcycles, the special paintwork radiates speed and dynamism through the lines and colors chosen.”

The new livery features a graphic outline on the fuel tank, a homage to the tank shape of the legendary Harley-Davidson® XR750 flat track racer. On faired models, the graphic extends backwards at a specific angle to convey speed. The lines on the front fender visually connect with those on the side panels and cases, creating a flowing effect. This means that the motorcycle conveys dynamism even when it is standing still.

The new color scheme is based on a base coat of Vivid Black. A graphic element traces Gauntlet Gray panels surrounded by an accent stripe in Jet Fire Orange – the original color of the XR750 racing motorcycles. Each panel features drop shadows and a subtle Bar & Shield logo.

1903 Harley-Davidson bells

The slight color gradient is also based on the racing motorcycles of the Harley-Davidson® Factory Team. The final finishing layer of this special finish is a clear coat. The Apex Custom paint is applied specifically at Harley-Davidson® York Vehicle Assembly and Harley-Davidson® Tomahawk Operations.

Apex Factory Custom Paint will be offered as a factory-selectable option on these Harley-Davidson® Grand American Touring models worldwide for the remainder of the 2022 model year order period:

  • Road King® Special model
  • Street Glide® Special model (Chrome and Black trim versions)
  • Ultra Limited model (Chrome trim version)
  • Road Glide® Limited model (Black trim version)
  • Road Glide® Special model (Black trim version)

Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories will offer Tour-Pak® racks and fenders specifically tailored to the new Apex Factory Custom Paint.

Is Harley-Davidson now bringing the Streetfighter Bronx back onto the scene?

On May 24, 2022, Harley-Davidson once again extended the naming rights for the Bronx in Europe until 2029, but that's not all.

Harley-Davidson continues to have massive delivery problems this year. There are only a few models that should have acceptable delivery times this summer, these are the Pan America 1250, Sportster S and Sportster Nightster. According to Harleysite information, the cards are currently being re-laid, and some incidents appear to require new strategies.

The Sportster models are not really in the water yet, but they don't seem to be as badly affected by supplier problems of any kind as, for example, the very popular Harley-Davidson Cruiser (Softail) models.

The Sportster Nightster should be at dealers from July

Sportster Nightster at Harley-Davidson dealers in July , and the announced accessories can already be ordered from the dealer. The focus currently seems to be clearly on the models with the Revolution Max engine.

Jochen Zeitz initially explained that he wanted to concentrate on the core customers and arouse desire among customers. He has undoubtedly achieved one of the two announcements; new and used Harley-Davidson motorcycles are among the most sought-after rarities these days. One can certainly doubt whether this is really the planned strategy behind the Hardwire plan.

LiveWire Harley-Davidson Factory Group 2022
Is Harley-Davidson now bringing the Streetfighter Bronx back onto the scene? 70

Harley-Davidson is still tying up a lot of resources in the LiveWire division

The fact is that Harley-Davidson is relying heavily on the outsourced LiveWire project, although the electrical division is no longer directly part of the company, many resources in the Harley-Davidson company are still tied up in this area in the background to ensure that the new company is strong for the future positioning in the market. Jochen Zeitz obviously sees the future of electric motorcycles.

If we look at the political developments, he could actually be right; business will be good once the state starts subsidizing e-bikes.

But perhaps he is a bit over-motivated with the supposed green mobility idea because his core customers are not really ready for this step yet. Harley-Davidson is already very far ahead with the Harley-Davidson LiveWire ; the last and correct Harley-Davidson LiveWire models are currently being sold with attractively priced packages , which have been well received by customers so far.

Harley-Davidson Düsseldorf online shop

One might therefore think that they don't need to be in such a hurry with further electric development, because we will still be able to allow conventional combustion engines for at least the next 8 years and if things go very well from the urban biker's point of view, even 13 years. Ultimately, this is about a hobby and not generally about vehicles for everyday use.

Is the company now pulling the BRONX out of the hat?

Harley-Davidson has to supply its authorized dealers with current models and at the moment there is a huge problem in this area. According to current information, people in Milwaukee are working on new strategies; it is currently not certain whether the planned Pan America with the 975cc Revolution Max engine will currently be launched in Europe. But there are new rumors that they want to pull the Streetfighter Bronx out of the hat again.

Strategically it could make sense as the target group addressed would be much larger. A Pan America 975 is certainly interesting for newcomers with a small driving license, but this target group is certainly not particularly large and every other customer can fall back on the 1250. If there is still free capacity for the 975 Revolution, the customer base for the Streetfighter Bronx model is certainly much larger.

The 1250 Revolution Max engine in particular meets all the requirements for a street fighter. Its easy-to-turn character fits incredibly well with a V2 class streetfighter. From 6200 revolutions it really gets going again, with Harley-Davidson having all the important ingredients for the step into a further division of the motorcycle classes.

Unfortunately, the only real problem is that we are generally talking about new customer groups here and hardly anything is delivered across the pond for the actual core customers.

The plans for the Bronx have been in the drawer for years, if they get the parts and assemble the Bronx for the European market in the USA, you could even expect the models this season, because the transport route from the USA would be half faster and you wouldn't have to send the parts to Thailand first. In any case, the Bronx naming rights for Europe were extended again on May 24th, 2022 until February 13th, 2029, which is why the already dusty folder has probably come back up.

This all costs time and money, one can ask oneself when the Harley-Davidson motorcycles will finally be delivered directly from the USA again, anything else makes little economic and ecological sense. So far it's just rumors and it would really be a surprise, but Harley-Davidson has to move more in order not to lose the trust of investors and with the addition of another division after the successful start of the Pan America it is definitely conceivable.

Sportster Nightster 2022 Harley-Davidson Accessories

Harley-Davidson has now presented the accessories for the new Sportster Nightster 2022. Sportster Custom Parts for the new Sportster Revolution Max series

The new Harley-Davidson Sportster competes against the legacy of the Sportster Evolution generation. The new one looks very modern, the old one never wanted that, but that's the way time goes. Customer demands are changing and there will be a market for the new Sportster Nightster. The prices of the old generation are incredibly stable, sometimes surprisingly high, which is certainly a sign that the new Sportster S and Nightster models have not yet really struck a chord with urban Sportster customers.

The new Revolution Max engine is a design revolution for the Sportster series

The new Revolution Max engine has a sleek and modern design, because of the water cooling no cooling fins are required on the cylinder and you have to get used to the not really nice radiator.

If someone doesn't immediately like the new Sportster Nightster, Harley-Davidson has introduced the new range of accessories.

Harley-Davidson Parts & Accessories

Harley-Davidson has currently shown the “Adversary Collection” and ’66 Collection . There are also mirrors, windshields and a sissy bar with a pillion seat.

The Sportster Nighster is delivered with a solo seat; it can optionally be made suitable for passenger use with the new parts from the accessory range.

Harley-Davidson offers the Sportster Nighster in three colors: Vivid Black, Gunship Gray (surcharge) and Redline Red (surcharge). To ensure that there are accessories in the same color for every paint job, we find very eye-catching farm combinations in the accessories program as well as parts that are eye-catching but still discreet.

Will the Sportster Nightster be a success?

THE NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON NIGHTSTER™ BEGINS A NEW CHAPTER IN THE SPORTSTER™ SAGA

The new Revolution® Max 975T engine is designed for maximum torque

NEW ISENBURG, April 12, 2022 - The next chapter in the HD® Sportster™ saga begins with the Harley-Davidson® Nightster™ - a milestone in performance and design, built on 65 years of tradition. This was achieved thanks to the preservation of the classic Sportster™ silhouette and the impressive performance of the new Revolution® Max 975T engine. As an “Instrument of Expression”, the Nightster™ not only offers the perfect introduction to the fascination of motorcycling, but also to the Harley-Davidson brand.

“The Nightster is an 'instrument of expression' – underpinned by great performance,” says Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson.

“Building on around 65 years of Sportster tradition, the Nightster is ideal for being creative and expressing your own personality. Whether for new or long-time motorcyclists, it is the ideal basis for customizing projects and pure expressive power.” New Revolution® Max 975T V-Twin
The heart of the 2022 Nightster™ is the new Revolution® Max 975T engine. This is a liquid-cooled V-twin with a cylinder angle of 60 degrees, which is characterized by an extremely flat torque curve across the entire usable speed range. The cam profiles of the four camshafts as well as the variable control times on the intake side were designed to ensure optimal acceleration and plenty of power in the medium speed range. The length and shape of the intake pipes and the volume of the airbox were chosen to maximize the engine's performance at all speeds.

Technical data of the Revolution® Max 975T engine • Displacement 975 cc • Maximum power 90 HP (66 kW) at 7,500 rpm • Maximum torque 95 Nm at 5,000 rpm • Bore 97 mm, stroke 66 mm • Compression ratio 12:1
The Hydraulic valve clearance compensation minimizes the mechanical noise of the engine and reduces the motorcycle's service costs, two balancer shafts prevent uncomfortable engine vibrations and optimize the reliability of the drive train.

Powerful agility
The HD® Nightster™ combines the extremely powerful engine, particularly in the medium speed range, with a chassis that is both light and manageable - an ideal combination for driving in urban environments as well as for chasing curves on lonely country roads.

Thanks to the centrally placed footrest system and the flat handlebars, the rider enjoys a sporty but relaxed seating position. The unloaded seat height is only 70 cm - combined with the small width of the motorcycle, this allows most riders to stand with both soles of their feet on the ground when stopping at traffic lights. The Revolution® Max 975T engine serves as a supporting part of the Nightster™ chassis. This design reduces the motorcycle's weight and ensures a very stiff chassis. The rear frame is made of light metal and the two rear suspension struts with emulsion shock absorbers, external expansion tanks and adjustable spring preload are linked directly to the swingarm made of welded square tubes. At the front, a 41 mm SHOWA® telescopic fork with “Dual Bending Valve” damping ensures that the front wheel always remains in contact with the ground, thus optimizing the handling of the machine.

Rider Safety Enhancements
The Nightster™ features Harley-Davidson's Rider Safety Enhancement Systems [1] , a technology package that adapts the motorcycle's acceleration and deceleration forces to the available tire grip.
The systems used are controlled electronically and are based on the most modern chassis, braking and drive control technology: • The ABS anti-lock braking system prevents the wheels from locking when braking and helps the driver to maintain control of the vehicle in the event of emergency braking while driving straight ahead. It regulates the front and rear brakes independently of each other.

• The TCS ("Traction Control System") prevents excessive slip on the rear wheel when accelerating and thus supports the driver when tire grip is limited, for example in the event of precipitation, suddenly changing road surfaces or on unpaved roads. The TCS can be deactivated in any driving mode when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is running.

• The drag torque control DSCS (“Drag-Torque Slip Control System”) adjusts the engine torque in coasting mode so that excessive slip on the rear wheel is prevented. Such a slip can occur especially if the driver downshifts too early on wet roads or abruptly lifts the accelerator.

Freely selectable driving modes
The Nightster™ offers the driver three freely selectable driving modes, each of which electronically regulates the driving dynamics of the motorcycle and specifies the intensity of the electronic interventions. Each riding mode influences the power delivery, engine braking, ABS and traction control of the motorcycle in different ways.

With a few exceptions, the driver can use the MODE switch on the right handlebar to change the driving mode both when stationary and while driving. Corresponding symbols in the machine display inform you which driving mode is activated.

Road
mode is intended for everyday use of the machine and ensures homogeneous performance characteristics. It offers moderately aggressive power delivery, a balanced level of engine power in the medium speed range and moderate ABS and TCS intervention.

Sport mode utilizes the motorcycle's full potential in a direct and highly precise manner with full engine power, direct throttle response, strong engine braking and late intervention of ABS and TCS.

Rain mode is intended for driving on wet roads or when tire grip is otherwise limited.
It reduces acceleration by reducing engine power and gentle throttle response, reduces the effect of the engine brake and ensures relatively early intervention by ABS and TCS. What looks like the fuel tank on the Nightster™ is actually the sheet steel cover of the airbox - the 11.7 liter petrol tank, however, is made of plastic and is located under the seat. The filler neck can be reached by folding up the lockable seat.

Placing the tank below the seat not only creates space for the bike's correspondingly large airbox, but also lowers its overall center of gravity, making it easier to bring the motorcycle upright and maneuver when parked on the stand. The Nightster™ is equipped with a ten centimeter analog speedometer with an integrated multifunctional LCD display, which is attached to the handlebar risers. The entire lighting of the machine is provided by LED lamps with strong luminosity, which optimize the style of the machine and the safety of the rider by making the motorcycle more visible to other road users. The Daymaker® LED headlight ensures an even radiance on the road without irritating hotspots.

New interpretation of a classic design
The slim, low and powerfully designed Nightster™ is completely redesigned, but at the same time incorporates classic Sportster™ styling elements such as the exposed rear struts and the airbox cover, which follows the shape of the legendary Sportster™ “Walnut” Modeled after fuel tanks.

The round air cleaner cover, single seat, shortened fenders and lamp cover are also reminiscent of recent Sportster™ models, and the side cover that conceals the fuel tank under the seat has a similar shape to the Sportster™ oil tank.

The visual centerpiece of the machine is the Revolution® Max 975T engine with its structured powder coating in Metallic Charcoal with glossy black highlights, which is framed by curved exhaust manifolds.

A lid below the cooler covers the battery and thus deprives the cooler of its visual dominance.

The wheels are painted in Satin Black, the fenders and lamp trim in Vivid Black. The airbox cover is available on request in Vivid Black, Gunship Gray or Redline Red. The Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories now also includes a whole range of new accessories specifically for the Nightster™, with which the The ergonomics, comfort and appearance of the machine can be adapted to individual requirements.

From June 2022, the first units of the Nightster™ will arrive at authorized Harley-Davidson dealers and will be offered at recommended retail prices starting from EUR 14,995 in Germany, from CHF 15,700 in Switzerland and EUR 17,995 in Austria.

NOW COMES THE NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON LOW RIDER S AND LOW RIDER ST 117 CRUISER

HARLEY-DAVIDSON EXPANDS THE CRUISER MODEL FAMILY IN 2022 WITH THE STRENGTHENED LOW RIDER S AND THE NEW LOW RIDER ST

The Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine celebrates its premiere in cruisers

NEW ISENBURG, January 26, 2022 - With the introduction of the new Low Rider® ST and the strengthened Low Rider® S, Harley-Davidson is enriching the cruiser series with even more performance and versatility. Both motorcycles combine the maneuverability and precision of the Harley-Davidson® Softail® chassis with the breathtaking power of the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 engine.

The Low Rider S presents itself as a powerful powerhouse for all lovers of unadulterated performance. The new Low Rider ST also offers a high degree of versatility thanks to its side cases and frame-mounted fairing. Both new models are characterized by the dynamic, performance-oriented character that defines real performance cruisers.

MILWAUKEE-EIGHT 117

The Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin with precision oil/air cooling has more displacement and develops more torque than any other standard engine produced by Harley-Davidson, delivers outstanding performance and turns heads on the road.

  • 1,923 cc displacement
  • Depending on the model, up to 169 Nm at 3,500 rpm ensure outstanding performance that the driver feels with every turn of the throttle
  • The high-performance camshaft is adapted to the displacement and air flow to achieve the highest performance
  • The high-performance Heavy Breather intake with forward-facing air filter allows more air to flow into the engine, ensuring even more torque in the mid-range and giving the motorcycle even more hot rod character
  • The high-performance 2-into-2 exhaust system with offset shotgun silencers ensures even more torque in the medium speed range and creates an attractive exhaust sound
  • Balance shafts reduce vibration at idle speed to increase driver comfort

LOW RIDER ST

The new Low Rider ST demonstrates how Harley-Davidson defines a sport touring motorcycle in Californian tall bike style. The side cases are placed high and close to the rear, the machine has been raised via the rear wheel suspension, the handlebars are placed high, and the new fairing is mounted to the frame. The driver sits even more confidently and the driving experience is characterized by direct contact and clear feedback. At the end of a tour, the suitcases can be removed with one hand and the Low Rider ST is transformed from a sporty tourer into a performance cruiser.

“The frame-mounted fairing was designed based on the classic Harley-Davidson FXRT Sport Glide®, a favorite among West Coast customizers,” said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson vice president of design. “With the headlight flanked by two side vents, the genetic connection to the FXRT is maintained.

The Low Rider ST fairing's sharper edges and revised proportions create a look that is modern, sporty and aerodynamically superior to the FXRT fairing. The placement of the side cases high above the exhaust, which allows the motorcycle to lean more, underlines the performance character of the Low Rider ST.”

Mathematical fluid mechanics played just as important a role in the development of the fairing as traditional test drives. It has triple split-stream ventilation to minimize turbulence on the driver's head at highway speeds, which is also protected from wind pressure by a 15 cm high, dark-tinted window. The lockable, sturdy side cases are divided vertically so that luggage can be easily loaded and unloaded.

The driver can open the suitcases with one hand while sitting on the motorcycle; a damper ensures that the lid gently and slowly releases access to the suitcase contents. The cases can be removed within seconds by operating an internal mechanism. Both suitcases have a combined capacity of 53.8 liters.

The strongly contoured individual seat gives the driver plenty of support when accelerating and cornering. The curved handlebars sit on ten centimeter high pull-back risers, and the 19 liter petrol tank is crowned by a flat, black structured console. The rider receives all the information necessary for riding from a compact speedometer that is hidden in the risers to give the impression that the motorcycle has no instruments.

In order to optimize maneuverability and precision, the weight of the chassis has been reduced without compromising its stability. Meanwhile, the MilwaukeeEight 117 drive train, which is firmly bolted to the frame, ensures more rigidity. The front wheel is guided by a torsion-resistant 43 mm upside-down telescopic fork with a 28 degree fork angle and single cartridge damping to optimize braking behavior and steering precision.

The Low Rider ST's single rear shock is longer than the standard Softail suspension - it has 12.7mm more travel, resulting in 25.4mm more rear wheel travel and raising the bike to a 19mm higher seat height. The longer shock absorber optimizes suspension comfort and increases the possible lean angles by more than one degree, which allows for a sportier driving style. The rear wheel suspension can be adjusted to the load and road conditions using the hydraulic spring preload adjustment wheel under the seat.

The front double disc brake with 300 mm brake discs ensures the deceleration that sporty drivers want and offers additional safety reserves. The sporty qualities of the chassis are further supported by the first-class Michelin® Scorcher® 31 tires in 110/90B19 at the front and 180/70B16 at the rear. The signature LED headlight, the bright LED tail/brake light and a USB charging socket round off the features of the Low Rider ST.

The ST is predominantly black with Wrinkle Black for the engine, transmission, primary drive housing, triple clamps, rear fender struts and tank console, and Gloss Black for the derby cover, intake, lower rocker covers and risers of the handlebar. The handlebars are in Satin Black, the fork is in anodized black and the silencers and exhaust tips are in Jet Black. The finish of the Radiate cast light alloy wheels - 19 inches at the front, 16 inches at the rear - is finished in elegant matte dark bronze as a fascinating contrast to so much black.

Optional audio system: A high-performance motorcycle needs a high-performance audio system. The optional Harley-Davidson® Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate® kit for the Low Rider ST fairing was developed alongside the motorcycle to ensure optimal performance and a perfect fit. The system consists of a compact amplifier with 250 watts of power and DSP technology (digital signal processing) as well as two 13 cm woofers and two separate tweeters. Music can be played or streamed from a mobile device via Bluetooth. More

Paint Colors Offered: Vivid Black and Gunship Gray

The Low Rider ST will be available from Harley-Davidson dealers worldwide at the end of March 2022.

LOW RIDER S

The Low Rider S is a power cruiser for riders who are looking for uncompromising performance and want to use the full potential of their bike. Because: The first-class chassis ensures a lot of driving fun. The Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine develops five percent more torque than the Milwaukee-Eight 114 in last year's Low Rider S. As standard, this bike combines the fascination of West Coast style with uncompromising performance that previously could only be achieved with a cost-intensive retrofit.

The 2022 Low Rider S is equipped with a special display that combines an analog tachometer with a partially digital speedometer and is mounted on the handlebars. It replaces the instruments located in the tank console of previous Low Rider S models and thus puts the display more clearly in the driver's field of vision. There is now a flat, black textured console on the tank with an FXLRS emblem. A signature LED headlight ensures optimal illumination of the road, and the bright tail/brake light also uses LED lamps.

The same longer single spring strut as on the Low Rider ST raises the rear of the Low Rider S and thus ensures more suspension comfort and one degree more lean angle freedom than on previous Low Rider S models - for an even sportier driving style. The rear wheel suspension can be adjusted to the load and road conditions using the hydraulic spring preload adjustment wheel under the seat. The front wheel is from one

DARK & POWERFUL STREET GLIDE ST, ROAD GLIDE ST GIVE THE 2022 HARLEY-DAVIDSON TOURING LINE A STRONG PERFORMANCE

NEW ISENBURG, January 26, 2022 - With the new Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST Harley-Davidson is bringing two performance baggers onto the road, which are obviously descended from the racing machine with which Harley-Davidson won the MotoAmerica Championship “King of the Baggers” won in 2021.

The two hot rod excavators not only impress with the strong V-twin power of the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 engine , but also with the subtle contrast between deep black details and a finish in Matte Dark Bronze . Like all Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring models, they also impress with the comfort and amenities that make every ride a spectacular experience.

STREET GLIDE ST

The new Street Glide ST is a hot rod bagger with outstanding performance for everyone who doesn't want to miss out on the necessary comfort when chasing corners. It combines the breathtaking power of the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin with a part black, part bronze finish.

Your legendary Harley-Davidson Batwing fairing is equipped with a dark-tinted low window and splitstream ventilation that minimizes turbulence on the rider's head. A flat tank console, a side tank filler neck and a low engine guard distinguish the Street Glide ST from other touring models and reinforce its custom character.

Derived from the Screamin Eagle® factory racing machine, the Street Glide ST is bathed in black from the front end to the drivetrain and controls to the exhaust system. Only a few elements, such as the machined edges of the cylinder cooling fins, are not black. The finish of the Prodigy cast light alloy wheels in Matte Dark Bronze, the color stripe on the lower rocker box, the medallion on the timer cover and the inlet as well as the classic tank graphics are in subtle contrast to the dark finish.

Two paint colors are exclusively offered: Vivid Black and Gunship Gray. The front fender has a sporty cut. In contrast to the Street Glide Special with its extended side cases, the ST is equipped with normal-length cases. The Heavy Breather intake with forward-facing air filter emphasizes the performance character of the machine, while the single seat gives the Street Glide ST an expressive look.

ROAD GLIDE ST

The extraordinary Road Glide ST is particularly impressive: the motorcycle, which is derived from the victorious Screamin Eagle® racing machine, impresses with the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine. Their unsurpassable ride comfort and their frame-mounted sharknose fairing are particularly appealing to drivers who want to move quickly on the road.

Pan America 1250 Standard vs Special

Harley Davidson 2022

The differences between the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Standard and Special 2022

The appearance of the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 was truly a success for Harley-Davidson in 2021. I was a guest at Harley-Davidson Bremen-Stuhr and spoke to Malte Kreke in great detail about the two Pan America models, Standard and Special. Where exactly are the differences between the versions and what you as a customer should pay attention to if you want to decide between the Standard and Special.

Important tips for the big tour!

There are a few tips on what you should pay attention to, for example when it comes to the power supply and how exactly it works with the Adaptive Ride Height (AHR) chassis. Who needs a lot of power for external devices and why with the AHR chassis you only need to worry little about the chassis settings.

I hope the effort was worth it and we were able to give you some helpful information.

Many thanks at this point to Malte Kreke and Steffen Börjes from Harley-Davidson Bremen-Stuhr for their support with the video.
