In cooperation with the Quantiquest Institute, the overview of the Top Motorrad Workshop 2025 was created with the best around 800. They all meet the strict criteria of the study.

The current edition of Motorrad offers detailed information about the search for workshops and the results of the study on ten pages. From today on, issue 7/2025 is available in stores and at shop.motorpresse.de (also as an e-paper). “If motorcyclists used to do a lot of service work on their vehicles, this is less and less possible these days. Strasbourg, March 12, 2025

The trade relationships between the European Union and the United States are the largest in the world. They have brought millions of people prosperity and security. And the trade has created millions of good jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.

Since this morning, the United States has been raising a custom of 25 % on steel and aluminum imports. We deeply regret this measure. Customs are taxes. They are bad for the economy and even worse for consumers. They interrupt supply chains. They bring uncertainty for the economy. Jobs are at stake. The prices will increase. Nobody needs that - neither in the European Union nor in the United States.

The European Union must act to protect consumers and companies. The countermeasures that we take today are strong, but proportionate. Since the United States raise tariffs of $ 28 billion, we react with countermeasures of EUR 26 billion. This corresponds to the economic scope of the US tariffs.

Our countermeasures are introduced in two steps - starting on April 1 and completely implemented from April 13th. In the meantime, we always remain open to negotiations.

We are firmly convinced that in a world full of geo -economic and political uncertainties, it is not in our common interest to burden our economies with such tariffs. We are ready to conduct a meaningful dialogue. I have commissioned trade commissioner Maroš Šefčovič to resume the talks and search for better solutions with the United States.

Thank you, Ms. President.

First let me repeat the words of regret. Today's tariffs of the United States lead us in the wrong direction - for several reasons. The trade relationships between the EU and the USA are well balanced and extremely profitable for both sides. When it comes to steel and aluminum, we share some challenges - such as the global overcapacity caused by non -market economy practices. The European Union is part of the solution, not the problem.

Last month I addressed these points during my visit to Washington. It was clear that the European Union is not the problem, which makes today's measures all the more unjustified. I have campaigned to avoid unnecessary stress through measures and countermeasures. But two hands are needed to clap.

However, the US government has chosen a harmful course of unjustified tariffs, so we have no choice but to react than to react-and that's exactly what we do now.

First, we will automatically put our currently exposed compensation measures from 2018 and 2020 into force from April. These affect US exports to the EU worth 4.5 billion euros.

Second, the Commission takes determined measures for an additional package of countermeasures that will affect US exports to the EU worth 18 billion euros.

In the next two weeks we will carry out consultations with important actors to design this new package of measures. The goal is to compensate for the commercial value affected by the US tariffs and at the same time to keep the effects on European companies and consumers as low as possible.

The disorders caused by tariffs are avoidable if the US government accepts our extended offer and reaches an agreement with us.

Under the leadership of the President, I am ready to negotiate. We are ready to find a solution.
