At the weekend we were guests of Bert von Zitzewitz in Karlshof / Neustadt Schleswig-Holstein. Bert von Zitzewitz has an OFFROAD PARK where he gives enduro and motorcross driving lessons. We were allowed to take the photos in his OFFROAD PARK. Thank you!

Part 1 – Setting up on sand

In the first part, Ralle shows us how to get a Pan America set up again on loose sand with his simple tips.

Part 2 – Setting up the Pan America on the slope

Things get more difficult in the second part! If you die on a slope, you have to approach things a little harder. Ralle pulls the Pan America across the slope and stands it up again; this is the case where crash bags can be worthwhile.

We're thinking about doing a small series of it, we had fun anyway and maybe you'll like it just as much. Please give us a like on YouTube.

The Harley-Davidson Pan America

The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special weighs approx. 258 kg when ready to ride (according to the manufacturer), which can vary depending on the equipment. The Pan America covers a wide range; it can be very sporty on the road and also provide fun off-road. It has to be said that anyone who often wants to travel off-road will pay particular attention to the weight of the machine.

For the passionate enduro rider who will be found more in the dirt than on the road, the Pan America Standard is an option.

Why Pan America is interesting even without a special

The Pan America Standard has the same performance data that we find in the Special, but its features are smaller and therefore it weighs less. Harley-Davidson states a riding weight of 245 kg.

It has no heated grips, no steering damper and it is not available with Adaptive Ride Height (ARH). But as I said, if you remove everything that is unnecessary and convert the tire profile to studs and the beautiful spoked wheels, you get a little closer to the problem, it still remains very capable of touring.

The prices at Harley-Davidson have risen quite a bit this year, which is why the Pan America Standard is becoming more and more important. While the Special only starts at €21,995 plus setup fee, the Standard starts at €19,995 plus etc. setup fee. They are only available in the Vivid Black color version, but that's not a problem, especially if you often go off-road, you should look at the prefabricated films, which give you a lot of design options.

I wanted to at least point out that with the Pan America 1250 in the basic configuration you can save around 2000 euros and you have still made a good choice.
