Review – Harley-Davidson Ruhrpott Meeting 2023
What kind of crime thriller was that?! Even days before the event, the weather gods caused a lot of excitement, let's put it this way, things can always get worse. The general conclusion was that the weather apps still have a lot of room for improvement, at most the rain radar showed you the trend.
So it happened that my live stream fell through a bit because most people obviously didn't want to drive off in the rain, so I got through it rather quickly. However, the weather on the event site was actually relaxed throughout the day, only in the surrounding area it was already damp, so many people came by car.
In the end that's okay, because as usual there were many TOP exhibitors at the Ruhrpott Meeting, and that alone makes the visit worth it. A few others came with their bikes, which then made Harleysite
The party went almost as usual, the organizer Klaus Fröhlich reacted quickly and rented additional indoor rooms from the LWL Industrial Museum Heinrichshütte and together with the restaurant, they were able to accommodate over 2200 people in case it rained heavily. But the indoor exhibition areas were also visited; there was a colorful mix of motorcycle trips, motorcycle clothing and cakes on offer.
The show continued lively outside with good rock music and shows. The trophies from the bike show have found their new owners; this year it was organized by Jimmy Nakamura and his team.
Exhibitors such as Wilbers chassis for Harley-Davidson, KessTech , Jekill & Hyde, Shoei and Ford are just a few who were there alongside the Harley-Davidson authorized dealers Thunderbike, HD Pfeiffer, Motormax Bochum and Motomaxx Hagen.
The new Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide
The brand new Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide was available for viewing at HD Pfeiffer. This was the first new CVO to be approved and is no longer a pre-production model.
Despite the chaos of the weather, it was a successful event, there were many interesting conversations, which is what always characterizes an event like this: people meet and that's a good thing.
The Harley Girls NRW are not at all afraid of water, of course they were represented in large numbers and supported the event with their presence and in a good mood!
The next Harley-Davidson Ruhrpott meeting date is already set!
Everyone had fun, that's the main thing, the date for 2024 has already been set, the organizer Klaus Fröhlich has announced Sunday on August 4th, 2024 . Then it will certainly take place again in the best weather, just like in previous years, let's all keep our fingers crossed!
Because I keep getting inquiries about why the event only takes place for one day and whether the journey is worth it. It's been going like this for years, everything has worked out over the years and there are very few problems. If the weather is good, it's also worth coming from further away because it's actually a very unusual event when the gate opens at 10:00 a.m. and the bikes all drive in.
There is a lot to see in the area, you should perhaps combine the meeting with something else so that it is a well-rounded event. For example, visit the large Harley dealer Thunderbike nearby. Unfortunately, Thunderbike's custom bikes, like many other customizers, are no longer seen as often at other events, but Thunderbike was there in Hattingen!
The motto this year was “Close your eyes and get through”! By the afternoon the drought was over, so it ended a little earlier this year.
Nevertheless, we all had a lot of fun!
