Around 60,000 visitors celebrated 120 years of Harley-Davidson at the Hamburg Harley Days
FRANKFURT (05/24/2023) – From May 19th to 21st, Harley-Davidson its 120th company anniversary at the Hamburg Harley Days . Hamburg at the event site, the wholesale market in the heart of the Hanseatic city .
A total of around 60,000 Harley-Davidson riders and fans of the brand visited the festival over the three event days and enjoyed hands-on action and moto culture. Covering an area of around 40,000 square meters, the Harley Village featured numerous dealers, caterers and even a 30-meter-high Ferris wheel. Live stunt shows by Polish two-wheeler professional Maciej “DOP” Bielicki and live acts by Nazareth, Knuckle Head, Gráinne Duffy and Bonfire as well as 15 other bands who rocked on two stages rounded off the long weekend’s harmonious program.
One of the highlights was the Harley-Davidson 120 Years Exhibition, in which numerous historic motorcycles illustrated the rich history of the highly sought-after brand. The classic bikes on display in the impressive exhibition were just as much a topic of conversation as the current machines on display in the expo area - including the latest models from Milwaukee such as the Nightster Special and the Breakout. Over 200 visitors took the opportunity to take a test drive. In the packed Demo Rides Area we also met the off-road professional and Pan America instructor Ralf Wiesenfeller, who had countless tips up his sleeve on how to handle motorcycles in general and adventure touring bikes in particular.
At the Custombike Show powered by Metzeler and supported by the Harley Owners Group, the best V-twin refiners in the motorcycle scene gathered on Saturday to present their high-quality, unique pieces to the strict eyes of an expert jury. And of course there was motorcycling . For example, on the guided tours, which went to the Altes Land and the Lüneburg Heath, among other places. And of course at the big parade: On Sunday, May 21st, around 5,000 machines set off to do a 30-kilometer-long farewell lap through the Hanseatic city, which was celebrated by the people of Hamburg.
Ford – like Harley-Davidson, 120 years young – was also represented at the event and, alongside the Ranger and Bronco, presented the latest evolutionary stage of the Mustang as well as the Mustang Eleanor, one of the hero cars from the film “Only 60 Seconds”.
It is a matter of honor that the party continues next year: The Hamburg Harley Days 2024 is expected to take place from June 28th to 30th, 2024.
