Review – Spring meeting at Harley-Davidson Weser Ems in Augustfehn
The brand-open spring meeting in Augustfehn has set new standards. The big motorcycle manufacturers are present in Augustfehn, something you don't even see at the relevant motorcycle trade fairs anymore. Ducati stand , you just have to say that!
At Harley-Davidson it looked rather small, but that was a bit deceptive, because there were over 20 Harley-Davidson demonstrator machines on site, which could be used for test rides Still, this is definitely something they should work on at Harley-Davidson. If you want to be a premium manufacturer, that shouldn't just be reflected in high surcharges for special paints, then I actually also expect Harley-Davidson to have an appearance that meets your own standards.
There was a very special highlight for Harley-Davidson fans
The Börjes American Bikes team presented three models from the 120th Anniversary Collection in Augustfehn. for the 120th Street Glide Special and the 120th Fat Boy 114 . the 120th Road Glide Special at the motorcycle fair in Dortmund.
The anniversary models are currently the hot topic in the Harley scene, which was certainly one of the reasons why some bikers even came from Kiel and Hanover. After all, you want to have a say and so far hardly anyone has seen the anniversary models.
Not even the Harley dealers can actually have a say because they can no longer go to the dealer shows, the shows for the dealers have been canceled without further ado, so of course you can't transfer any emotions to the customers.
The weather always cooperates somehow!
On Saturday it was still below expectations, the weather just didn't really cooperate. The good thing was that those who were interested in certain exhibitors received more intensive advice, and when did they have the opportunity to ask the respective companies their questions personally so that they could better decide on the right one in the end.
Because there were really good companies there, especially the advice-intensive topic of chassis was one such case. Here you could get information at your leisure from the Wilbers team, or from Kellermann, here you could find all the information about the Jetstream LED indicator with running light and the other LED range.
Friends of sound could get information from KessTech , Jekill & Hyde and Sena, Cardo also had something to do with sound in the broadest sense but was more responsible for communication. Bag manufacturer DEEMEED , or SW-Motech and not to forget, the two large Börjes stores were open, as was the workshop and the DynoJet Tuning Center.
Those responsible at SE-MOTO presented a new product in this segment and a product with a future. They showed off their anti-reflective film for the Boom Box and the GTS infotainment system. Above all, how easy it is to install the film and what advantages the high-quality display protection has. We expect something big from Harley-Davidson this year, especially when it comes to the display.
On Sunday, not only was the sun visible, thousands of bikers came, the thoroughfare was closed and only open to the two-wheeler group. On the one hand it's great, when you have so many bikes in front of the door there's a lot to see here, but you have to put up with long queues at the stands and at the coffee and cake bar, arriving on time has always been an advantage.
KING OF CUSTOM – CUSTOM CONTEST
The custom bike contest will be expanded even more in the future. Börjes has not only had the name protected, the competition should also become a brand with a name. This year there was already an exclusive KING OF CUSTOM ring made of silver worth 500 euros up for grabs, pretty much in the same way as you would expect from the big US bike shows.

CONCLUSION
In short, Saturday was quiet due to the weather, but still good. On Sunday it was really busy, thousands of bikers came to look around at the manufacturers, the big advantage was that you could take a test ride straight away, you don't have this opportunity at a motorcycle trade fair that takes place in the hall.
You can already tell that the market is concentrating on certain events, the “ Motorcycles Dortmund” motorcycle fair was very well attended this year and many manufacturers were well positioned there and we saw this picture even stronger in Augustfehn. The TOP manufacturers were present here and presented their current product range.
At the spring meeting in Augustfehn we were able to experience an excellent start to the new 2023 season.
