Navigation on Street Glide and Road Glide 2024 – Extra costs or included?
The new Grand American Tourers not only have a completely new design, but in the new 2024 model year they will be equipped with the advanced Skyline OS infotainment system that we have previously only seen on the new CVO models.
It has now been announced that Harley-Davidson in the USA is charging a surcharge to activate navigation in the large view. As you can see in the following image, the extension cannot currently be ordered. Let's now come straight to the question: does this also affect customers in the DACH region?
Harley-Davidson navigation fully activated in the DACH region
In the USA, the Harley-Davidson online shop a special offer that requires Skyline OS navigation system This activation makes it possible to show the navigation in full width on the display. In addition, the activation of the audio navigation allows announcements to be transmitted directly via the motorcycle's infotainment speakers without the need for a headset for the driver or passenger.
Now the big question, how will Harley-Davidson regulate this in Germany, Austria and Switzerland? After asking Harley-Davidson, I received the following information! In our region, Harley-Davidson will regulate this in a more customer-friendly manner, sometimes this is because there are different customer requirements in the European market, so Harley-Davidson has not made the expansion of the system in our country subject to a charge. Navigation in Skyline OS is therefore fully unlocked.
Harley-Davidson starts cooperation with Cardo
Harley-Davidson is now partnering with Cardo, a leading provider of communication systems for motorcyclists. Last year, Cardo delivered the first headsets specifically for the new CVO models from Harley-Davidson. This partnership is characterized by collaboration with JBL, a renowned audio equipment manufacturer.
JBL is known worldwide for its high-quality speakers, headphones and audio systems and stands for first-class sound and robust construction. This collaboration underlines Harley-Davidson's commitment to providing its customers with an outstanding audio experience by leveraging Cardo's expertise and JBL's quality.

The new Cardo headsets are also included in our delivery, as is the activated Apple CarPlay. That's what I call customer-friendly, it's clear that Harley-Davidson has changed its strategies to be more customer-oriented. Of course, we will always find something to criticize, but we should also mention positive developments.
The arrival of the first Harley-Davidson Street Glide and Road Glide models of the 2024 model year is eagerly awaited in Germany towards the end of February. It has not yet been confirmed, but I assume that we will be at the next open house dates at the Harley -Davidson authorized dealers will be able to see the new models.
It is cooked hotter than eaten
I will make a separate article on the subject of the CVO Street Glide suspension. I had questions about what the recall in the USA is all about and whether the new Street Glide could be affected by it. To be clear, the recall is only about the CVO Street Glide, not the CVO Road Glide, as you could read in some comments.
The new Street Glide is not affected by this, and this issue is cooked hotter than eaten. There is a problem, but only if you don't give it the necessary break-in time and, above all, you don't adjust it correctly to the driver in terms of weight, but that's also what it says in the manual. First of all, let's say a lot about that, I'm currently working on detailed information.

I recently had the opportunity to take a first look at the new Street Glide in the color Billiard Gray. As you can see from my previous reports on the 2024 model year , we can expect the introduction of the new Street Glide and Road Glide models this year. These are based on the design of the CVO models that Harley-Davidson introduced just last year.
